Today (Sept. 5), students across the province eagerly welcome the first day of the new school year of 2013-2014. To prepare for the new academic year, right from the previous months the provincial sector of education and training planned to prepare for the new school year with the goal of “renovating substance, improving sustainable quality”.

In this school year the entire province has 288,500 students, up 24,000 from the previous academic year. Depending on conditions at every schools, the local schools have set out proper measures to ensure seats for all students in the new school year.

 

Tran Hieu, vice director of the provincial department of Education and Training said that the sector has spurred progress on repairing schools and classrooms in a bid to meet students’ learning in the new school year. In addition, to solve the rising number of students, Binh Duong has invested in building 700 more classrooms with the total investment capital of VND1,400bil, offering seats for thousands of students. Along with the classroom repair, the sector has invested in teaching equipments.

 

Implementing the project of “Improving quality of English teaching at schools”, the sector has equipped teaching facilities for foreign language rooms at primary, secondary and high schools. Moreover, the department and its branches have invested in informatics equipments in service for renovation of teaching method.

 

The number of students increases sharply in this school year so the sector has planned to recruit more teachers as well as extend labor contracts for retired teachers.

 

Under the instruction of the provincial department of Education and Training, the opening festival of the new school year across local schools will be held solemnly and significantly. Over the past days, ambience of welcoming the first day of the new school year became lively throughout schools. Students have eagerly involved in rehearsals for the event.

 

Teacher Vo Ngoc Diep, headmaster of Binh Quoi primary school in Thuan An town said “For the first graders, if teachers create good impressions for them, they will pay more attention to their study, so we have made efforts to hold the opening festival significantly”.

 

The school year of 2013-2014 is themed of “renovating substance, improving sustainable quality” with the motto of “motivation - creation” and the slogan of “Dedication for loved students”. In the new school year the entire sector has 4 key tasks of continuing to improve efficiency of educational management work; enhancing quality and efficiency of educational activity; developing teaching staff and educational managers; increasing investments in education and ensuring synchronous, modern and effective development of educational sector.

 

In this academic year, the department has steered units and schools to excel the mobilization of “Every teacher is a moral example on self-study and creation” and the emulation movement of “Building friendly schools and positive students”.

 

The provincial People’s Committee vice chairman Huynh Van Nhi said that entering the new school year of 2013-2014 the entire sector of education and training should focus on key tasks: launching creatively and effectively the mobilization of “Studying and following Ho Chi Minh’s moral examples” in combination with the movement of “Every teacher is a moral example on self-study and creation” and the emulation movement of “Building friendly schools and positive students”; updating and checking the number of students at every level to map out plans and balance sources on schooling, material facility and teaching equipment network; building and improving quality of teacher staff and educational managers.

 

Additionally, Huynh Van Nhi noted that the sector should pay more attention to talent students as well as focus on education on living skill and morality and lifestyle for students, especially awareness on executing the road traffic law, education on historic and cultural tradition and simultaneously launch and spur the emulation movement of “Good teaching and learning” and many more.
