Local authorities urged to give support on technique, capital, product promotion for farmers

On the afternoon of October 8, Nguyen Van Loi, Member of the Central Party Committee, Secretary of provincial Party Committee and Head of provincial National Assembly Deputy Delegation, along with a delegation of the province visited and surveyed agricultural models in Phu Giao district. The delegation included Bui Thanh Nhân, Member of provincial Party Standing Committee and Head of provincial Party Committee's Mass Mobilization Commission; Nguyen Van Danh, Chairman of provincial Fatherland Front Committee and Vice Chairman of provincial People's Committee, along with leaders from relevant departments and sectors.

The delegation visited the pepper growing model of Nguyen Van Dung, the high-tech netted muskmelon cultivation model of Nguyen Hong Quyet, the biosecure chicken breeding and high-tech durian cultivation model of Dinh Ngoc Khuong, all of whom are farmer members in An Bình commune. In each visiting place, provincial Party Committee Secretary spoke highly of the dynamism and creativity in organizing agricultural production, especially the responsiveness to market demands in researching and producing clean agricultural products by these members. Clean production has not only met the province's sustainable agricultural development policy, but also provided high and stable incomes for farmers.

After hearing opinions from these farmers, Mr. Loi encouraged them to continue enhancing the effectiveness of clean agricultural models to meet domestic and export market demands. He also urged provincial Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, Department of Science and Technology, Farmers' Association, scientists and relavant units to further research and support farmers with seeds, plant protection methods and post-harvest product preservation to improve the value of the province's agricultural products.

Provincial Party Committee Secretary also requested relevant sectors and localities to have coordination in providing scientific and technical transfer, mobilizing low-interest capital and supporting the promotion and marketing of agricultural products both domestically and internationally, aiming at improving agricultural production efficiency for farmers in the province in the coming period.
