Vietnamese athletes are set to compete in the final round of events on August 29 at the ongoing Asian Games 2018 (ASIAD) in Indonesia.
Pencak Silat athletes compete in eight categories, including five combats and three performances, while others join in four Judo events and two Kurash events.
Meanwhile in athletics, Quach Thi Lan and Duong Thi Viet Anh vie for medals in women’s 200m race and women’s high jump, respectively.
Besides, Vietnamese athletes participate in the qualifying and semifinal rounds of other events such as boxing, sepak takraw, table-tennis, soft tennis, and volleyball.
Also the same day, Vietnam’s Olympic football team is set to versus the Republic of Korea’s Olympic squad in the semifinal match at 4pm (local time).
Vietnam is in the 20th place in the ASIAD 2018 medal tally. As of 22pm of August 28, Vietnam won two gold, 11 silver and 13 bronze medals. China remained its first position with 93 gold medals, followed by Japan with 43 golds and the Republic of Korea with 32 golds. Host Indonesia moved to 24the place with 24 golds.
