Assistive policies robustly transform agricultural collectives

Thanks to the good exploitation of supporting policies, the collective economic models in the province, especially the cooperatives in the field of agriculture, have made strong changes to achieve myriad positive results.

Mechanisms and policies synchronously implemented

In order to promote the role of the collective economy, the province has issued mechanisms and policies to support and create conditions to promote development. The province has paid attention to and organized training and retraining in professional skills for thousands of officials and members of cooperatives. The training and retraining classes have helped cooperative managers improve their organization and operations to step by step do business effectively and flexibly in models, meeting the requirements of the market. At the same time, the province has issued mechanisms and policies to support and encourage businesses and entrepreneurs to invest in researches and application of scientific and technical advances and technological innovation into production.

At the same time, in order to promote marketing and expand the market, the province has organized a good range of specific and practical activities for cooperatives to participate such as trade promotion fairs, trade connection programs between suppliers with businesses inside and outside the province. Various agricultural products such as cantaloupe, bananas, tangerine, green-skinned pomelos, orange-leaved sugar pomelos, red-fleshed jackfruit, bird's nests etc. in the fair and was guided in building product brands to promote and enhance values.

Through the cooperative bridge, members are offered procedures to borrow capital for agricultural development according to Resolution 09 of the provincial People's Committee. Depending on the production plan, farmers can borrow about VND 1 billion from the source. Nguyen Huu Hang, director of Nam Hang cooperative of hamlet 4 in Lac An commune of Bac Tan Uyen district, said that in the past time, the cooperative has received political support from the branch of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development on preferential loans, training, and the application of science and technology to production in the stage of digital conversion.

High efficiency

Totally 73 agricultural cooperatives in the whole province are attracting over 1,083 members to make an important contribution to linking agricultural product consumption along the value chain as an active factor in building new rural areas and bringing the area to a new level. The landscape of agriculture - countryside - farmers changes to richer and more eye-catching position.

Implementing the policy of exploiting the potentials and strengths of the province, many cooperatives have focused on investing in local specialty products. Up to now, 88 recognized OCOP products in the province accommodate 77 products of 3-star standards and 10 products of 4-star standards. With new and creative ways of doing things, many outstanding and typical cooperative models have been born. Tan My Fruit Cooperative has specifically signed product consumption contracts with Co.opmart, Co.opFood; Nhan Duc Agricultural Cooperative invests in electricity system and pumps as irrigation services for its members, certified for organic production; Kim Long Hi-tech Agriculture Cooperative applies high technology in cantaloupe production and links consumption with Hanoi Binh An Co. Ltd.

Nguyen Phong Huy, Director of the Rural Development Sub-Department, said that in order for the collective economic sector to be more effective in the coming time, the department should focus on a number of key solutions like strengthening communication, training and capacity building of cooperative human resources, and at the same time propagating to create a full, correct and unified awareness of the nature and new model of cooperatives among cadres, CPV members and the masses, effectively implementing policies to support agricultural development in the collective economic sector; at the same time, re-evaluate effective collective economic models to have a basis for replication throughout the province, selecting a number of cooperatives of appropriate size to support the building of a chain link model with enterprises in the direction of high technology application, ensuring sales of the products.
