Update: 13-04-2013 | 00:00:00

Through a basic investigation, at present Vietnam has had over 5,000 mining and mineral points in which some kinds of minerals evaluated the large reserves such as mineral oil (1.2-1.7 billion cubic meters), coal (240 billion tons), titan (600 million mineral), bauzite (10 billion of tons) and rare earth (11 million tons).

At the forum, the Australian Ambassador to Viet Nam Hugh Borrowman emphasised that the forum is an important event for national and international leaders to share information on technological development and collaborative opportunities in the mining field.

The event is part of activities to mark the 40th anniversary of diplomatic ties between Vietnam and Australia (1973-2013).

Addressing the forum, Deputy Minister of Natural Resources and Environment, Mr Nguyen Ngoc Linh, judged that Australia is one of Vietnam’s most promising partners in collaborative mining projects, especially in technology sharing and provision of mining equipment.

In Australia mining is a primary industry and contributor to the Australian economy. Mining has had a substantial environmental impact in some areas of Australia./.
