After nearly 3 years of retail distribution expansion for foreign businesses, Vietnam retail market has become jubilant. Binh Duong alone, many businesses and retail groups arrived in the locality to seek investment opportunities. They include Metro Cash & Carry (Germany), Lotte Mart, GS Retail (Korea), Aeon Group (Japan), Vinci Group (France)…
Increase on retail market will spur goods turnover and bring profit for customers.
After a short-term time of survey, Metro Cash & Carry opened Metro Binh Duong supermarket in Nov. 2010. The supermarket is located on an area of over 2ha and includes advanced equipments.
After Metro Cash & Carry, Lotte Mart, one of Korea’s leading retail groups, is under construction in the province. Accordingly, the group will open a supermarket at Charm Plaza Song Than Complex with the area of 12,500sqm and investment capital of US$7mil. The supermarket will be put into operation by 2013. Lotte Vietnam Trade Center Company general director Hong Pyong Gyu, said “Binh Duong is a good environment for development of supermarkets and trade centers. As an industrial and populous province with young purchasing power, the locality has many advantages for our investment. Lotte highly values the province’s position and considers the locality as a priority area for Lotte’s development strategy in Vietnam”.
Meanwhile, Aeon Group of Japan is busy for completing procedures to prepare for a trade center project at Thuan An town. The trade center will include 3 floors located on an area of 75,000sqm and will be put into operation by 2014. Once put into operation, the center will place jobs for over 1,500 laborers.
Realizing potentials of Binh Duong provincial retail market, GS Retail Group of Korea has intended to invest a 7ha trade center complex at My Phuoc III IP by 2012.
Many people ask that why Binh Duong lures many retail businesses. Reason of the attraction lies in good investment environment and stable growth. In addition, with advantages of geological position and traffic network, the locality has become attractive for investors.
