Binh Duong further maintains high growth compared to whole country

Early June 29, the General Statistics Office held an online conference to announce socio-economic statistics in the second quarter and the first six months of 2021. Attending the conference in Binh Duong province were representatives of provincial Department of Statistics, a number of relevant departments and sectors.

The report by the General Statistics Office shows that under the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic, socio-economic situation in the second quarter and first six months of 2021 continued suffering many impacts, badly affecting targets on socio-economic development. Particularly, the country’s gross regional domestic product (GRDP) in the second quarter of 2021 was estimated to increase by 6.61% over the same period last year, higher than the growth rate of 0.39% in the second quarter of 2020; export of goods and services increased by 29.81%; import of goods and services rose by 28.53%. The country’s GRDP in the first 6 months of 2021 grew by 5.64%, higher than the growth rate of 1.82% in the first 6 months of 2020...

In Binh Duong, with the efforts in realizing the "dual goals"  of Covid-19 prevention- control and socio-economic development, the province continued obtaining positive results. Particularly, the province's GRDP increased by 7.23% over the same period last year. The province's export turnover was estimated at more than US$17 billion, up 47.2% over the same period last year. The province also attracted more than VND 49.11 trillion in domestic investment capital and more than US$ 1.4 billion in FDI capital. So far, the province has absorbed 3,982 FDI projects with total registered capital of US$ 36.79 billion.
