The National Youth Karate Champs 2012 was held in Lang Son province from May 18 to 23, with the participation of 500 athletes from 40 provinces and cities nationwide.

 With six gold, four silver and seven bronze medals, first prize in the team ranking went to Hanoi. The second prize went to the Binh Duong with six gold, three silver and six bronze medals, while team from Can Tho City won the third prize, with five gold, three silver and nine bronze medals.

 This was also a chance for participating localities to learn experience in preparation for the National Phu Dong Sports Festival 2012 to be held in Can Tho city in August ahead.
