Update: 18-11-2015 | 17:18:40

China’s Taiwan is piloting a preferential visa policy for high-end tour groups from Vietnam as well as those from the Philippines, Thailand, Indonesia and India with the aim of increasing tourist arrivals, according to local press.

The policy was enforced from November 1 this year and will be valid until December 31, 2016.

The policy requires that a group comprises of at least five tourists and their tour is arranged by a travel agency designated by Taiwan (China) or sponsored by a certain business.

After the trial duration, Taiwan (China) will review outcomes to consider the extension of the policy.

The incentive is expected to increase the number of arrivals to Taiwan (China) from these countries by 40% compared to the current figure.
