A high-ranking delegation from the Defense Ministry led by Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Vietnam People's Army, Lieutenant General Nguyen Quoc Khanh, paid a visit to Cuba from October 10-14.

The Lt. Gen. discussed the traditional relationship between the two countries’ armies with Chief of the General Staff of the Cuban Revolutionary Armed Forces. Alvaro Lopez Miera.

The visit aims to boost the two fraternal ties between the two nations which were fostered by the late president Ho Chi Minh and the former Cuban leader Fidel Castro as well as to strengthen cooperation in national defense and exchange experiences in dealing with conspiracies that threaten national independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity.

The delegation also laid a floral wreath at the Monument to Antonio Maceo and met with a number of departments and military academies under the Cuban Ministry of Revolutionary Armed Forces.
