Developing farm produce market towards linkage

Building up a series of linkage from producing to consuming products will help North Tan Uyen district’s hi-tech agriculture ensure quality and stabilize consumption market. This is an indispensable way in line with the development of the market economy.

Effective models

The district has boosted policies on hi-tech agriculture. The local people have also bravely applied sci-tech advancements in animal husbandry and cultivation, helping them secure billions of dong. The number of enterprises, breeding facilities, households with hi-tech application is increasing.

The local agricultural products are introduced at trade fairs of agricultural products in and out of the province

Currently, the district is home to 2,341 hectares of citrus fruit trees. There are also 102 cultivation farmsteads of 1,464 hectares growing citrus fruit trees with the annual income of VND800million-VND1billion. The number of citrus fruit farms with VietGAP certificate in the district is increasing. The district has also built up trademarks like “North Tan Uyen orange”, “North Tan Uyen pomelo”, “North Tan Uyen tangerine”, forming an effective area on growing citrus fruit trees in communes of Hieu Liem, Tan Dinh and Tan My.

Along with the success of citrus fruit tree farms, the district has formed up the local trademarks like Doan Minh Chien farm, Lam Thanh Thuong farm, Nhan Duc cooperative…The local small production households have also bravely linked to develop cooperative models on agriculture, trade and services, rising up for wealth.

District-based cooperatives have worked very effectively, contributing to increasing the amount of the local agricultural products.  Noticeably, with total charter capital of VND4billion and 22 members, Tan My cooperative in Tan My commune is specialized in pomelo, orange growing and other agricultural services…with the annual revenue of VND21billion. The month income of members is around VND25million. Despite difficulties in 2020, the cooperative has still reached stability in profit and revenue.

Also in Tan My commune, Dan Tien agriculture-trade-services cooperative was established in 2019 with the goal of safe agricultural development. Together with growing oranges, pomelos, tangerines  under VietGAP standards, the cooperative has fostered a model on ecotourism in association with large-scale animal husbandry. The cooperative has also got involved in many agricultural services like classifying, packaging, transporting, preserving agricultural products after harvest…With its sound way, the cooperative has reached stable steps on the market, bringing products into distribution channels in and out of the province.

Active support

The district’s People’s Committee has made efforts in coordinating with authorities at all levels to improve the management capacity of cooperatives for appropriate business methods. The district’s functional sectors have also strengthened inspection, monitoring over cooperatives and guided them how to work under the law; supported cooperatives to work effectively…

According to Thai Thanh Binh, Secretary of the district’s Party Committee, Chairman of the district’s People’s Committee, the district will further build up sustainable and modern agriculture towards goods production with quality, safety, effectiveness and high competitiveness. To expand consumption market for citrus fruit trees, the district will put forward solutions to improve the quality of products along with strengthening trade promotion activities, ensuring consumption market.

The district is creating favorable conditions for businesses to invest in agriculture towards a linkage chain from production to consumption, processing. With a synchronous infrastructure system, it is believed that the district will become a place absorbing investment resources in the field of agricultural processing.
