A close solution needed

To ease away drawbacks and create a fulcrum for development, the Government Office issues a document on supporting businesses to overcome hard times, in which, the Prime Minister requested to actively implement short-term, medium-term and long-term solutions to support businesses, contributing to economic recovery and development in the coming time.

Businesses also expect to continue to be supported to have a specific direction. According to Pham Van Xo, Chairman of Binh Duong provincial Import-Export Association, the current problems of businesses are difficulties in goods output, pressure to keep jobs for workers, scarce capital resources, and opportunities to continue working. The standard production ground is very small. In particular, businesses hope to have more solutions for debt extension, tax and fee exemption and reduction.

Not only did the issues mentioned above raise, recently, at a dialogue with the provincial police, a number of businesses added difficulties and problems related to fire prevention whose new regulations are making some businesses confused and unable to fully respond, affecting production and business operations. Truong Thuy Lien, Deputy President of the provincial Footwear and Handbag Association, said that in the current conditions, the correct implementation of new regulations causes businesses to face tremendous obstacles, requiring the provincial police and functional agencies to strengthen training and guidance on fire prevention and fighting, and to speed up the appraisal process and set up a hotline to support businesses in implementing regulations.

Regarding the output of goods, businesses said that the Ministry of Industry and Trade as well as localities have in the past time organized many programs to connect, create chain of links to bring Vietnamese goods to consumers, which has supported businesses to stabilize the production, contributing to economic growth. However, in the context of high input costs, it is necessary to further strengthen the links between production and distribution enterprises, contributing to stabilizing the prices of products and services. The chain of links and cooperation needs to be organized comprehensively and synchronously to minimize costs, and at the same time, to access new markets.

The novel motivation

Businesses have also taken proactive steps to connect, establish new ecosystems, and improve competitiveness. According to Huynh Tran Phi Long, Chairman of Binh Duong Young Entrepreneurs Association, the Southeast trade exhibition will take place on August 25 in Binh Duong aiming to create a favorable environment for members to learn about business lines, exploit and maximize the resources of the network of young entrepreneurs. At the same time, it helps to find and promote opportunities to buy and sell goods, provide services, and investment opportunities.

“The booths in the program show the diversity of small and medium-sized enterprises and start-up businesses, thereby, creating a trade bridge, the strength of linkages between businesses inside and outside the province as well as the strength of the network such as association with foreign enterprises. The exhibition also implements provincial policies on interest rate supporting programs, preferential capital sources for small and medium-sized enterprises and individual business households in order to reduce the burden of financial expenses,” Huynh Tran Phi Long said.

Within the framework of the program, there was also a seminar to share business experiences, to update the development of the Southeast key region, and to focus on the socio-economic development of Binh Duong. In particular, the program also has an economic forum of "Business in integration" with the participation of speakers from the Netherlands, the US, Hong Kong (China), Singapore in investment, business expansion of import and export markets. This is also considered as an opportunity to support businesses to access investment funds and trade associations around the world, helping them orient the needs of the market economy of developed countries and expand relationships in the world’s trade promotion and international cooperation.

Regarding the integration, Ta Hoang Linh, Director of the European-American Market Department under Ministry of Industry and Trade said that in addition to solutions from management agencies, small and medium-sized enterprises wanting to effectively provide services to customers of large retail distribution groups need to link up to jointly produce products so that each business is a vital link in the overall supplying chain.
