Education and training sector eyes hi-quality manpower training

Along with industrial development, the local cause of education and training has showed an encouraging change. To ensure a sustainable development, the province needs to have hi-quality manpower. Therefore, the local sector of Education and Training targets to improve quality of human resources through orientation of building hi-quality secondary and high schools for the 2011-2015 period.   Pupils at a hi-quality class.

Building hi-quality schools

Building hi-quality secondary and high schools was considered 4 years ago. To implement the model, the local department of Education and Training experimentally opened hi-quality classes at Chu Van An secondary school. In the 2008-2009 school year, the school opened 3 hi-quality 6th grades with 90 pupils. However, the number of examinees for the hi-quality classes increased nearly 600. Till the end of this school year, the first pupils of the hi-quality classes will graduate the final exam.

Realizing a right way of the model, Binh Thang secondary school in Di An town was chosen to launch the model. In the 2010-2011 academic year, the school held an exam to recruit good 6th graders for 3 hi-quality classes. In the 2011-2012 school year, the province has 2 more hi-quality schools.

Duong The Phuong, director of the department, said till 2015 the sector will have a hi-quality school in every district and township.

In the 2011-2012 school year, the department selected Trinh Hoai Duc high school in Thuan An town as the first hi-quality school in the province, owing to its quality of education.

There will be 7% of pupils to be recruited for hi-quality classes in the period of 2011-2015 and 10% in the 2016-2020 period.

Developing Hung Vuong High School for the Gifted

Over the past 15 years, Hung Vuong High School for the Gifted has reached encouraging achievements in teaching and studying with hundreds of good pupils winning prizes at national and provincial contests. Duong The Phuong added that there are many people who were used to be pupils of Hung Vuong High School for the Gifted have worked at agencies and businesses inside and outside of the province. Many of them are pursuing high degrees at universities inside and outside of the country. Possibly speaking, Hung Vuong High School for the Gifted is a pride of Binh Duong people and a goal for pupils.      

To meet requirement of hi-quality manpower training in service for local industrialization and modernization, the local sector of education and training has mapped out a project to develop Hung Vuong High School for the Gifted for the 2011-2015 period with goals of reaching 85% of pupils to be admitted into public universities and 10% admitted into talent training classes of prestigious universities inside and outside of the country.
