On December 13, Ho Chi Minh City Department of Tourism organized a survey delegation in Binh Duong province to adjust and develop river tourism products along the Ho Chi Minh city - Binh Duong route. The survey delegation included participation of relevant sectors and tourism service providers in river tourism and travel services in Ho Chi Minh city.
During the survey, the delegation had a working session with the leaders of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the provincial Tourism Promotion Center, and some tourism service businesses in Binh Duong province. Both sides discussed and exchanged ideas about tourist destinations and services, particularly the construction of a river port to serve tourist units bringing visitors from Ho Chi Minh city to Binh Duong. Currently, the Tiamo Phu Thinh yacht terminal in Thu Dau Mot city can accommodate river tour groups to Binh Duong. However, tourism service businesses in Ho Chi Minh city are hoping that Binh Duong will soon have additional boat terminals and yacht terminals to facilitate the reception of tourist groups to Binh Duong via the river, especially the early implementation of a yacht terminal in the area of Thu Dau Mot market because passengers docking here will easily move to nearby attractions by land.
Mr. Nguyen Thanh Phong, Deputy Director of the Department of Culture, Sports, and Tourism, highly appreciates the opinions and suggestions exchanged by the survey team. He stated that the department will collaborate with relevant departments and localities in constructing piers and marinas. The tourism industry in Binh Duong will actively coordinate and support tourism operators in bringing tourists to Binh Duong in the near future.
