Hydroponics spread to vegetables Hydroponics

Update: 29-11-2011 | 00:00:00

After witnessing hydroponic practice in Thailand, Mr. Ho Mong Hai, residing at Du Khanh, Thanh Phuoc Commune, Tan Uyen District made his first ever vegetable planting model in Binh Duong Province.

He test tried hydroponics in 2009 in cooperation with Dalat Biology Institution which has helped him with a greenhouse of 100 sq m for glory morning, mustard greens, spinach, and brassica integrifolia. After a month growing, he could sell out VND 25,000 a kg which is three times higher than vegetables planted by other method.

Mr. Doan Huynh Hung, who directly helped Mr. Ho Mong Hai in planting vegetables applying hydroponics, infored that the sprouts after 4 days will be splitted to pots with a little of soil for the next 6 days before being transplanted to other pots with soluble substance. The soil for the first stage is prepared from coconut coir soaked in lime water.

Hydroponics is economically efficient for not requiring watering or weeding. Beyond, the plant will be offered with all necessary nutrients without storing up toxic substances. And further more, the caring is ‘automatically’; however, only qualified personels could follow the procedures of hydroponics which to some extents is vunerable to environment changes.
