The international U15 girls’ football tournament kicked off in Hanoi on September 1 night.

Teams from Myanmar, Hong Kong (China), Iceland and host Vietnam will compete in a round robin format. The team with the most points will be champions.
This event is one of projects under the UEFA Assist Programme that focuses on developing youth football.
The Vietnamese girls lost to their Myanmar rivals 0-3 in a match that took place right after the opening ceremony. Earlier, U15 Iceland won 8-0 over U15 Hong Kong.
The Vietnamese players will face Hong Kong girls and Iceland will meet Myanmar on September 3.
To prepare for the competition, coach Le Tuan Long and the Vietnamese players started training since early August.
