Politburo member Le Thanh Hai was re-elected as the Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee for the 2010-2015 tenure.

This was announced at the ninth Congress of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee which concluded successfully on October 8 after four working days.

The Congress reviewed work done in the last tenure and discussed the plans and direction for the next tenure. It also adopted a resolution comprising 18 key targets in all fields.

The Congress elected 69 new members of the City Party Committee executive board and 30 members to attend the upcoming 11th National Party Congress.
