Local education and training sector prepares positively for high school final exam

Preparation for the 2011-2012 high school final exam has been completed to help examinees reinforce their knowledge before the exam.   The 12th students positively prepare for the incoming final exam.

All for the incoming exam

At present, all students and teachers of high schools across the province have gathered up strength for the upcoming high school exam. Ho Thi Ngoc Tram, the 12th grader of Trinh Hoai Duc high school in Thuan An town, said “Since the start of the school year, we have focused all strength for the incoming exam. We are reviewing lessons of 6 exam subjects”.

Aside from 3 compulsory subjects including Vietnamese literature, English and mathematics, the Ministry of Education and Training in this year chooses more 3 subjects of chemistry, history and geology for the 2011-2012 high school final exam. Teacher Tran Dinh Phu, headmaster of Tay Son high school in Phu Giao district, “Since the start of April, our school has started starting review for students to prepare for the upcoming exam”.

Meanwhile, Di An town-based Nguyen An Ninh high school’s teachers have positively reviewed lessons for their students. Extra classes have been held since September of the past year.

The work of review for the incoming final exam at private high schools has been implemented urgently, because the rate of students who pass their final exams will impact greatly on the private high schools’ prestige. In this year, Viet Anh secondary and primary school has the first students preparing for the incoming final exam. At present, the school has assigned teachers to tutor the 12th students for the coming exam.

Petrus Ky high school this year has 36 12th graders. According to Dinh Quang Hao, headmaster of the Petrus Ky primary-high school, the school has spurred review for 6 exam subjects. Right from early this year, the school has held reviews in groups for the 12th students. This activity has created awareness on learning for students, so the rate of students who pass their final exams has reached more than 90% over the past 2 years.

Preparations for final exam

According to the Ministry of Education and Training’s instruction, the ministry eliminates final exam in groups, but the province will still hold final exam in groups to ensure seriousness. The provincial department of Education and Training will arrange high schools and continuing educational centers into 10 groups. The department will hold 15 exam councils with 289 exam rooms for 6,886 examinees.

Preparations for the final exam have been calculated. Specifically, plans, measures of holding the final exam, setting up exam councils and so on have been considered.

After the 2nd semester’s exam, the local high schools will accelerate reviews for the 12th students to help them win adequately necessary knowledge for the upcoming exam.
