Local IIP surges 5.67% in first 2 months of 2016

The province’s index of industrial production (IIP) in Feb.2016 decreased by 33.87% compared to the previous month and rose by 7.37% against the same period of last year.

Of these, the minerals sector reduced by 44.96% over the previous month, increased by 3.58% compared to the same period of last year. Production of electronic products surged 5.16% against the previous month and 11,79% over the same period of last year. Meanwhile, water supply and wastewater and garbage treatment saw an increase of 0.61% over the previous month and 14.21% against the same period of last year.

The province’s IIP in the first two months of 2016 rose by 5.67% year-on-year. Of these, the minerals sector increased by 6.72% over the same period of last year; production of electric products by 2.29%; water supply and wastewater and garbage treatment by 5.96%.
