In the morning of February 13, Steering Board of National week for labor safety and hygiene and fire prevention of the province held a meeting to sum up results of National week of labor safety and hygiene and fire prevention in 2011 with orientation to 2012. Mr. Huynh Van Nhi – Deputy Chairman of People’s Committee chaired the meeting which reported of 36 labor accidents, killing 36 people and injuring 715 others. 71 fires have been broken out but the fire fighting force has responded to save an estimated value of VND 103 billion.

To minimize labor accidents and fires, the attendants of the meeting proposes plenty of measures to launch the 14th National week of labor safety and hygiene and fire prevention at the best pace including information promotion, direction on labor safety and hygiene and fire prevention.

Lasting from March 18 to 24, the 14th national week under the theme of “building up prevention measures against labor accidents, diseases for the sake of responsibilities and benfits of enterprise and employees”.

Addressing the meeting as Head of the Steering board, Mr. Huynh Van Nhi assigned detailed work to departments and agencies which are members regarding labor protection with the stress on communication and education to improve awareness and responsibilities of employers, employees and the working sectors.
