Never back down with difficulties

Update: 12-05-2012 | 00:00:00
Readers are turning their backs away from literature and arts journalism due to low quality articles in orienting public trends; besides, the lacking of writers together with humble payments have turned down public taste. Such issues were raised up at National Conference for Literature and Arts 2012 organized by Central Committee for Education and Communication, Central Committee for Literature and Arts Critique, and Ministry of Information and Communication.Binh Duong Newspaper interviewed Mr. Bach Xuan Son (in photo), Editing Secretary of Vietnam Music Magazine, for in-depth understanding of current literature and arts.At the conference opinions raised up were that cultural publication for females were growing while topics of arts, music, and literature critiques were declining in readers.Explaining the situation, Mr. Bach Xuan Son asserted that writers were on tendency of writing for specialized magazines not ones of general literature and arts. In the meantime, specialized gutter-press was easily accepted in the market. The appearance of news and social websites has challenged publication of newspapers.“Fewer readers, fewers periodical publication, and fewer payments have prompted writers to move to magazines and newspapers with higher salary.Bach Xuan Son gave his advice of easy-reading articles not containing too much specialized knowledge while ensuring eye-catching designs for entertaining and orienting the public to products of good cause.“For the time to come, Vietnam Association of Music Composers will join up with artists in Binh Duong Province. I am hopeful that Binh Duong Newspaper will support the broadcast of the images of Binh Duong urban,” he said.Interviewed by Minh Chau – Translated by Vi Bao
