Early September 27th, Eastern International University (EIU) held the opening ceremony of the 2013-2014 school year and the 3rd anniversary (September 27th 2010 – 2013) with participation of Party Central Committee member cum provincial Party Committee Secretary Mai The Trung, provincial People’s Committee Chairman Le Thanh Cung, provincial People’s Committee Vice Chairman Huynh Van Nhi, representatives of Education & Training Ministry and many other distinguished guests.  Mr. Mai The Trung beats the drum to open a new school yearEIU invested by Becamex IDC Corporation was opened in 2011 gives education and training according to international accreditation ABET and AACSB admitted by Education and Training Ministry. EIU applies credit-based system with 3 semesters per year. After 3 years, EIU has 2,473 students for 7 professions, in which business administration faculty is taught in English.In the last school year, in addition to official students, EIU educated 3,398 learners from provincial bodies, enterprises, namely, 612 teachers from program “Standardizing English proficiency” of Education & Training Department in 2011-2016; future officials from training program of Foreign Affairs Department; 89 officials from Political School; English, training courses for enterprises’ staff.  Mr. Le Thanh Cung gives flowers to EIUAt the ceremony, many new events happened, like: cooperation signing between EIU and My Phuoc Hospital; EIU and Vietnam Supply Chain Association; scholarships and equipment given to EIU by VSIP JSC.Speaking at the ceremony, provincial People’s Committee Vice Chairman Huynh Van Nhi appreciated efforts from EIU, namely, giving high-quality training to provincial human resource, offering modern advanced learning programs, especially comprehensive cooperation with Portland University of America as well as contributions of staff and students and Becamex IDC to socialization in education of the province and country.Reported by T.Minh – Translated by Ngoc Huynh
