poor pupils enjoy gifts from donors.

Sharing difficulties with laborers, local organizations often hold programs to grant gifts to poor children on the occasion of the new school year. To keep laborers and encourage workers’ children’s study, local companies have granted significant gifts to laborers’ children.

Specifically, P&G Company annually grants hundreds of scholarships to its laborers’ children whilst Yazaki, Kimho Vietnam companies in Ben Cat district grant notebooks, scholarships or hold excursions for laborers’ children. Recently, Thai Binh Shoes Group granted over 1,000 scholarships worth VND1bil to its laborers’ excellent children.

Nguyen Thi Bay, head of Binh Duong Female Entrepreneur Club’s Social Charity board, said “Granting scholarships to talented disadvantaged students is a significant activity. The club this year will grant about 30 gifts to talented disadvantaged students with the total value of VND15mil. In addition, the club will donate scholarships worth VND400mil to poor students”.

Meanwhile, local schools have checked list of poor students to offer assistance for them. Phu Hoa secondary school in Thu Dau Mot town has many immigrant students, so the school annually grants 50-100 uniforms, books to poor students. My Phuoc primary school has over years held activities for poor students to help them pursue study.

From assistance from community, numerous children of laborers enjoy study at local schools. It is hoped that in the 2011-2012 academic year quitting class from poor students will be ended.
