Supporting hospital fees for disadvantaged individuals with fatal illnesses

Provincial Mobilization Board of the Day for the Poor has recently issued a plan to support hospital fees for poor, near-poor individuals and those with extremely difficult circumstances suffering from fatal illnesses across the province.

Accordingly, the beneficiaries of this support are patients with fatal illnesses (as defined by the Ministry of Health's list of fatal diseases) who belong to families meeting one of the following criteria: families classified as poor, near-poor or those with extremely difficult situations (including families with members who are chronically ill, disabled, or unable to work…); families facing sudden financial hardship as recommended by local authorities, heads of agencies or units, or trade unions from companies (applicable to both permanent and temporary residents).

The financial support will be distributed in November 2024, with 100 patients to be supported. Each patient will receive VND 5 million. The total cost of implementing the program is VND 500 million, extracted from provincial Fund for the Poor sponsored by the Joint Stock Commercial Bank for Foreign Trade of Vietnam - North Binh Duong Branch.

Provincial Mobilization Board of the Day for the Poor has requested provincial Department of Health to collaborate with hospitals and medical centers across the province to review and make a list of eligible patients. The list must be submitted to the board by October 30, 2024, to ensure timely distribution of the support.
