The “Meet Vietnam” organization held an August 31 ceremony in Hue City granting 214 Odon Vallet scholarships to outstanding students, international Academic Olympics prizewinners, and Thua Thien-Hue provincial laureates. This is the 12th time since 2001 the Odon Vallet Scholarship Fund has focused on students in Thua Thien-Hue. The 2013 scholarships were worth a total of nearly VND1.8 billion including VND11 million each for 77 tertiary students and VND7 million each for 137 high school pupils. “Meet Vietnam” is also covering the expenses of 17 students from the National High School of Engineers currently studying in France’s Val-de-Loire, and established “collective scholarships” worth VND840 million for Hue High School for the Gifted and Hai Ba Trung High School.
