The Vietnamese Business Association in Australia (VBAA) has just provided 9,500 AUD to the program “For beloved Truong Sa students”.
More than 50 overseas Vietnamese entrepreneurs in Australia from the VBAA held a fund-raising event in Melbourne on September 16 with the presence of Mrs. Truong My Hoa, former Vice President, Chairwoman of the Vu A Dinh Scholarship Fund and Mr. Hoang Vinh Thanh, Vietnamese Ambassador to Australia.

Mrs. Truong My Hoa talked about the meaning and purpose of the program “For beloved Truong Sa students”, launched by the Vu A Dinh Scholarship Fund and the Ho Chi Minh City Law newspaper in order to build a school for students on the Big Island of the Truong Sa Archipelago, with overseas Vietnamese entrepreneurs.
"Construction of the school is expected to start in October, with a total cost of about 10 billion VND, and classes will be inaugurated in March, 2013 including classrooms, a library, working office and living apartments for teachers and fresh water reservoirs," said Mrs. Truong My Hoa.
Vietnamese Ambassador Hoang Vinh Thanh said the program "For beloved Truong Sa students” contributes to the cause of protecting and affirming the sovereignty of the territorial waters of Vietnam.
Mr. Tran Ba Phuc, President of VBAA, stated that the program “For beloved Truong Sa students” is a very meaningful deed. He also said that overseas Vietnamese people in Australia are very interested in and have always followed the sea and island sovereignty protection situation of Vietnam.
"Any Vietnamese people having their hearts with the homeland, regardless of being in or outside the country, also feel that his heart toward inviolable Truong Sa of Vietnam. We want to represent our feelings to the people in the most dangerous position, and we are honoured to contribute to building a school on the Truong Sa's Big Island," Phuc said./.
