The Vietnam Food Association (VFA) said that paddy and rice prices have seen rebound, owning to the high demand from Bangladesh and Indonesia.

Paddy price in the Mekong Delta region, on July 3, stood at VND5,750-VND5,850/kg, up VND200/kg compared to last week. Meanwhile, the prices of material rice for 5% and 25% broken rice have increased to VND7,950/kg and VNDVND7,800/kg, respectively.

The paddy and rice price increases have came from many new orders (photo). Particularly, Bangladesh has signed a contact to buy 100,000 tons of 15% broken rice with the price of US$525 per ton from Vietnam. Indonesia has also been negotiating to purchase 400,000 tons of rice from Vietnam.
