Party chief sets off for Cambodia

A high-level Vietnamese delegation led by Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong left Hanoi on December 6 for a three-day visit to Cambodia at the invitation of King Norodom Sihamoni.

 

Through his first visit as head of the Vietnamese Communist Party, Mr Trong hopes to strengthen the ties of friendship and cooperation for the sake of peace, stability, and development in the region.

 

Mr Trong’s entourage included Politburo member Nguyen Xuan Phuc, Deputy Prime Minister; Party Central Committee member Hoang Binh Quan, Head of the Central Commission for External Relations; Party Central Committee member Pham Binh Minh, Foreign Minister-cum-President of the Vietnam-Cambodia Cooperation Subcommittee; Party Central Committee member Tran Quoc Vuong, Head of the Party’s Central Office; General Nguyen Chi Vinh, Deputy Minister of Defence; Party Central Committee member Nguyen Thi Thu Ha, Vice Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh Municipal Party Committee; Vietnamese Ambassador to Cambodia Ngo Van Dung; and Dinh Van An, assistant to the General Secretary.
