People in Luang Prabang mark Vietnam’s National Day

The Party committee and administration of Luang Prabang province, an ancient capital of Laos, in collaboration with the Consulate General of Vietnam, organized an art exchange program on August 31 to celebrate the 68thanniversary of the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam (September 2, 1945 – September 2, 2013).The program featured the performance of artists from Luang Prabang and art troupes of Vietnam’s Military Region 2. The artists of the two countries performed songs and dances which praised the leaders of the two countries.Earlier, the Consulate General of Vietnam in Luang Prabang held a banquet to mark the National Day with the participation of leaders of eight provinces of northern Laos, and a large number of overseas Vietnamese.The Consul General Tran Van Tuan highlighted the significance of the National Day, introduced the country and people of Vietnam through periods, praised the loyal and faithful relationship between Vietnam and Laos, and thanked the party and government of Laos for their warm camaraderie with Vietnam.VOV
