The project of universalization of pre-school education for 5 year old children has been launched across the province since 2011. By effort and determination, Phu Giao district has soon finalized the project and become the province’s first locality reaching the national standards on universalization of pre-school education for 5 year old children.   Children of Phuoc Vinh pre-school.

Phu Giao is a remote district with shortage of material facilities, so it has encountered many difficulties in mobilizing children to go to school. Nuyen Thanh Tung, head of the district division of Education and Training, said to soon finalize the project, the local sector in cooperation with mass bodies and agencies mobilized 5 year-old children to go to school.

Vo Dong Giang, vice chairman of Vinh Hoa communal People’s Committee said that mass bodies and agencies and parents have positively mobilized children to go to school.

Aside from Vinh Hoa pre-school, the locality has had private pre-schools. Pham Thi Van Anh, headmistress of Phuoc Vinh pre-school said that in terms of mobilizing children to go to school, the pre-school has enjoyed assistance from local authorities.

According to Tung, the local educational sector steered pre-schools to improve quality of care and education for children. The sector has spurred investments in material facilities and teaching aids for the private and State-owned pre-schools.

By efforts and measures, Phu Giao district has early completed the project of universalization of pre-school education for 5 year old children.

As statistics, the rate of mobilizing 5 year-old children to go to school has reached 98% and above. According to the common assessment, in 2012 11 out 11 communes and townships and Phu Giao district reached standards on universaliztion of pre-school education for 5 year old children.
