Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung hosted a reception in Hanoi on May 8 for newly-accredited Timor-Leste Ambassador to Vietnam Jorge Trindade Neves de Camoes.

At the meeting, PM Dung affirmed that Vietnam always attaches importance to boosting multi-faceted cooperation with Timor-Leste, especially in economics, trade and investment, for practical benefits and common development of the two countries.

He expressed his hope that Timor-Leste creates favourable conditions for both countries’ businesses to strengthen trade ties and exchange, as well as supporting Vietnamese investors in the country, particularly those engaging in telecommunications.

Vietnam is always willing to promote rice export to Timor-Leste to ensure the country’s food security, Dung noted, adding that Vietnam will also share experience and cooperate with the country in developing agricultural production and telecom system, and building infrastructure.

The diplomat affirmed that he will do his utmost to foster the two countries’ bilateral relations in all fields, particularly in agriculture.

He suggested Vietnam intensify cooperation with Timor-Leste in trade exchange of agricultural products, furniture, garment and textiles and other necessities.
