To strive for high positions have been great challenges to Vietnamese teams of An Giang, Binh Duong, and Dong Thap who had to make the greatest efforts on the racing tracks. All the race stages were of high speed up to the peak of 45 km/h in Stage 5 from Nha Trang to Cham Temple of Phan Rang. Thus, it was so hard to earn victory.”Coach Banh Chan Quyen of Binh Duong female cycling team asserted of the best tournament ever with participation of Japanese cyclists although they failed to win the top prizes (ranked 5th and 10th in team and individual competition, team ranked 5th in the final). Japanese team included 4 cyclists less than 1 cyclist comparing to other teams but the deputed great competition efforts, notably in the race around Da Lat City when one of the Japanese cyclists was injured. Organizers had to put her into medical examination against her willingness of continuing the race. It was admirable for her to get on with 4 stages of the race ignoring her injuries till the end of the tournament.Meantime, great performance of fresh participating Thai cyclists has hindered local cyclists from high achievements through stages.According to Mr. Tran Van Quyt, Malaysian team did not show off their power for some excellent cyclists were absent from the tournament to attend training courses in Europe. It was expected that the next tournament shall include other quality teams from South Korea and Uzbekistan to add more fire to competition of Vietnamese cyclists as opportunities of profession improvement.Mr. Nguyen Phu Yen, Deputy Director of Binh Duong Provincial Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, said: “Binh Duong International Female Open Cycling Tournament 2014, Biwase Cup is more and more of quality domestically and regionally.
