Province actively preserves, promotes cultural heritage values

Provincial Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism has fulfilled documents suggesting the recognition of Du Khanh and Bung Cu communal houses in Tan Uyen town as provincial-level relics, Di An communal house in Di An town as a national-level relic, bringing the total number of ranked relics in the province to 52.

The department has also completed documents regarding “Tan Khanh Ba Tra” martial art and “Lacquer craft in Binh Duong” and suggested the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism to insert them into a list of national intangible cultural heritages; inventoried the local intangible cultural heritages and encoded a total of 1,885 objects at provincial Museum; built a project on “Preserving and upholding Binh Duong’s Don ca tai tu (Amateur singing)”.

Such these apart, districts, towns and TDM city have been proactive in mapping out plans to restore the local relics while boosting cooperation in realizing the “friendly schools, active pupils” movement to enhance the effectiveness of preserving and upholding the values of the local relics. In 2015 alone, provincial Museum and relics in the province welcomed 250,000 visitors.
