In recent years, logistics services have absorbed large-scale investment of province-based enterprises, contributing to promoting the local economic development.
Scale expanded
The province now has around 48 enterprises operating in the logistics sector, basically meeting the demand for goods transport of enterprises in the province and the region. The warehouse is part of the TBS logistics system of TBS Group. The 115-hectare TBS Logistics warehouse was capitalized with US$125 million, of which 35 hectares was put into operation and 45 hectares are under construction. Nguyen Thi Vui, Director of TBS Logistics said that this was a warehouse with modern equipment. TBS Logistics has always wanted to become a reliable logistics hub in Vietnam and a strategic logistics partner of enterprises at home and abroad.
U&I Logistics Joint Stock Co. under UniGroup has also just held an inauguration ceremony for its modernly equipped bonded warehouse 7 of more than 30,000 square meters. It has brought U&I Logistics’ total area of bonded warehouses so far to 178,851 square meters. Currently, U&I Logistics possesses the biggest concentrated bonded warehouse system in Vietnam.
Development in line with real demand
For solutions on logistics service development in Binh Duong in the coming time, many experts said that logistics services herein need to be gradually professionalized and modernized. The province also needs to attach special importance to the balance between supply and demand in this sector, ensuring hi-economic efficiency.
As planned in the 2016-2020 period, the province will further carry out the phase 2 of the Di An logistics center and port compound project with a total area of 20 hectares. The province also needs to upgrade existing logistics services. For ICD Hoa Phu at provincial Industrial-Service-Urban Complex and Vietnam-Singapore 2 Industrial Park, its scale is expected to cover around 25 hectares…In terms of development orientations for the 2021-2015 period, IDC Bau Bang at Bau Bang Industrial Park and IDC Vinh Tan at Tan Uyen Urban-Industrial Park are expected to cover around 20 and 25 hectares, respectively…
Binh Duong is a locality with robust growth in terms of industrial parks and is also the gateway for trade exchange, connecting HCM city and neighboring localities. The province also owns a favorable traffic system, facilitating enterprises’ goods transportation. Hence, the scale of logistics services has got bigger and bigger, contributing to meeting enterprises’ demand while promoting to the local economic growth.
Assessing the importance of logistics sector for the local economic growth, Tran Van Nam, Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of provincial Party Committee said that Binh Duong has always attached special importance to absorbing hi-quality industries and services, including logistics. This is a service sector with enormous potential in line with the local economic development orientations. With a favorable geographical position and traffic system, Binh Duong is full of potential to foster logistics services.
