Province reaches comprehensive socio-economic growth

On September 20, provincial People’s Committee implemented a pilot paperless meeting room system, or called e-Cabinet for State agencies’ meetings; organized a periodic session in September with focus on reviewing the local socio-economic performance, national defence-security over the past nine months and defining major tasks for the rest of the year. The event was attended by Tran Thanh Liem, Vice-Secretary of provincial Party Committee, Chairman of provincial People’s Committee; representatives of sectors, departments, mass organizations, the People’s Committees of districts, towns and TDM city.

Targets reaching, surpassing the set plan

In the first nine months of 2019, the province’s index of industrial production surged 9.12% compared to the same period last year. The province’s total retail sales revenue of commodities and services was estimated at more than VND167.6trillion, up 17.3%. The province’s export turnover was estimated at more than VND14.6billion, up 7.2%. The province’s trade surplus was maintained at US$5.1billion. The province’s total capital for social development was estimated at more than VND72.7trillion, up 11.7% against the corresponding period while State budget collection was VND43.5trillion, up 19% or 80% of the estimate of provincial People’s Council.

As of September 15, the province absorbed more than US$2.42billion in FDI capital from 164 new projects and 109 extra-ones, up 81% compared to the same period last year or beyond 73% of the year’s plan. The province has so far lured nearly 4,000 FDI projects with total registered capital of US$34.73billion. Also during the period, the province lured more than VND44.43trillion, up 8.6% compared to the same period last year. Thus, the province has till now attracted nearly 41,000 domestic investment projects with total registered capital of more than VND345trillion.

At the session, Mr.Liem said that the province reached comprehensive results in the local socio-economic development over the past nine months. This is the foundation for the province to fulfill the year’s tasks. Some major targets gained and surpassed the province’s five-year plan from 2016 to 2020. The province also sufficiently, opportunely realized policies for targeted people; well organized cultural-sports activities; mobilized VND927billion from many other sources to take care of social policy beneficiaries, built and upgraded 25 gratitude houses, 69 “great unity” houses with total cost of more than VND 7.2billion…The whole province is now home to 665 education facilities with nearly 500,000 pupils at all levels, up nearly 35,000…

Synchronous implementation for tasks, solutions

To complete tasks, plans for 2019, provincial People’s Committee has asked for sectors, authorities at all levels to drastically and synchronously implement tasks, solutions for socio-economic development, national defence-security for the rest of the year…

Mr.Liem emphasized that sectors, departments and localities need to concentrate on taking solutions to reach and exceed the year’s targets; prepare contents for the year-end session of provincial People’s Council; carry out conclusions of provincial Party Committee Secretary at the working sessions with the Party Standing Committees of districts, towns and TDM city. He also required them to map out socio-economic development plans, State budget estimates for 2020; set up draft documents for the 10^th provincial Party congress for the 2020-2025 tenure.

For the rest of the year, provincial People’s Committee will further meet foreign enterprises with English and Japanese languages; continue supporting startup businesses; set up projects building some hi-tech industrial parks in Bau Bang district, auxiliary industrial parks and compounds for small and medium-sized enterprises; bend on hastening the progress of infrastructure construction of industrial parks and compounds; make a plan on stockpiling commodities to stabilize the market, prevent smuggling and trade fraud; ensure completion of the year’s State budget plan…
