Provincial Education and Training see impressive spotlights in 2012

Summing up the school year of 2011-2012, the whole province has 99% of students graduated from high schools. This is the first year when the province achieved such a high gain. The major factors bringing about such outstanding results were thanks to leadership of Department of Education and Training as well as improvement of learning hours for students. Many staffs have been awarded with emulation flags in 2011-2012 school year Mr. Dang Thanh Sang, Deputy Director of Department of Education and Training added that the subject teaching staffs have made great efforts in compiling reviews syllabus and sending to high schools. Besides, they held workshops for teachers to share experiences. In 2012, 67.6% of high school graduates passed entrance examinations to universities and colleges, as the 14th locality out of 63 ones hitting the targets. The high achievements were thanks to a responsible community and devoted teaching and learning people. The managing officers shared their experience and methods of education quality improvement while each schools were flexibly applied with specific method. At the 8th Phu Dong Sport Festival, Binh Duong Province had 486 athletes participating into 10 games, winning 12 golds, 15 silvers, and 80 bronzes among top 6 provinces out of 63 nation wide. Meantime in 2012, project of “Improving English Teaching and Learning in high schools from 2012 to 2017” was launched by Binh Duong Department of Education and Training, targeting at equipping students with skills and confidence to communicate in English and gradually improving ratio of school students qualified for the subject in each school year. The project was to build up teaching staffs and students qualified for intensive “speaking, writing, listening, and reading” across the grades. Accordingly, students at grade 1 are accessible to English subject in their second semester in 2012-2013 school year. Deputy Chair of Provincial People’s Committee, Mr. Huynh Van Nhi awards merrit certificates to teachers creditted in training excellent students in 2011-2012 school year In a bid to enhance efficency of the project, Department of Education and Training planned with training teachers and investing into equipment and teaching aids including English libraries at the cost of over VND 203 billion. Under mission of training up human resources meeting the demands of industrialization and industrialization, the sector has aimed at improving quality by constructing sources at junior and senior high schools from 2011 to 2015 namely Chu Van An Junior High School in Thu Dau Mot City, Binh Thang Junior High School in Di An Town, My Phuoc Junior High School in Ben Cat District, and Tran Hung Dao Junior High School in Phu Giao District. By 2015, it is projected that each district to have 1 specialized high school to create the sources. As for senior high school system, Trinh Hoai Duc High School in Thuan An Town and Hung Vuong High School in Thu Dau Mot City were selected as pivotal training school for high quality human resources of the province in the new stage as ruled by the 11th tenure regulation of provincial Party Committee.
