Provincial Retired People Club offers many useful activities for the elderly

Founded in 1987 with many useful and healthy playgrounds, Binh Duong provincial Retired People Club has lured the participation of thousands of local retired people.  

With 25 years of challenges, the club has spared no efforts to develop. Located at the hub of Thu Dau Mot town, the club has many appropriate spaces for cultural, sport and art activities.

The club has so far had about 1,000 members participating in 5 events such as music, poetry, chess, taichi, table tennis, badminton. Most of the members are the retired public servants.

 

The club’s reading room has tens of kinds of newspapers whilst chess room always lures numerous members and table tennis room is often noisy by the elderly’s laughter. In the year-end, the club often holds table tennis, chess tournaments with interesting prizes.

Meanwhile, poetry room is noisy by voice of the elderly members. About 40 members of the poetry board often offer guidance on poem comment for members. The poetry board cooperates with music board to hold exchanges on poetry and music on big holidays.

In the past year, the poetry board composed 3,115 poems praising the Party, Ho Chi Minh, Vietnamese people and land. In 2006, the board was awarded by the provincial People’s Committee.

Despite old age and weak health, the club’s members try their best to join in the club’s activities and spend money to hold excursions to Ha Long Bay, Hue, Da Lat, Kien Giang, Dai Nam Van Hien Paradise…

With efforts of the members, the club was honored by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the provincial People’s Committee and mass bodies.
