Regional qualified competition

Update: 20-08-2013 | 00:00:00
After 3 days of competition, Binh Duong International 3-cushion Carom Tournament 2013 or Becamex IJC Cup 2013 concluded the most qualified matches while open up new windows for the next organization. Duong Anh Vu and Ngo Dinh Nai are competing at the final match of BTV – Becamex IJC Cup 2013 The most impression of the competition was the highly professional value in tight and attractive matches. All the 4 international playing guests were highly evaluated, especially Tatsuo Arai who has reached quarterfinals of international championship as a major carom player of Japan. He failed to reach the second round for not playing at his peak. Another player from Japan was Takeshima O who has reached quarterfinals of Asia Indoor Games 2013. He was defeated by Van Cuong of Binh Duong Team in the first round of Becamex IJC Cup 2013.It was a pity to bid farewell to 4 international players in their very first matches. This proved the quality of Becamex IJC Cup 2013 as very demanding for championship.Experts even asserted that Becamex IJC Cup 2013 could have been an Asian mini championship if Cho Jaeho from South Korea and Umeda Ruuji from Japan and many other players from West and Middle Asia were present for the tournament. It was a leap to such regional championship; however, highly demanding Becamex IJC Cup 2013 was qualified as a quality tournament in South East Asia.As asserted by Binh Duong Billiards Coach, Mr. Nguyen Vinh Thong, it should be harder to win gold of 3-cushion carom in Vietnam than in SEA Games.Vietnam eyes strong growth of players competing at Southeast Asian arena be qualified in the top list of Asian billiard players. Thus, Vietnamese players of 3-cushion usually meet up with players at lower ranks in SEA Games. As the matter of fact, to win a gold medal at BTV-Becamex IJC Cup 2013 with participation of 48 strongest players of Vietnam and 4 international players should be much harder than winning the gold medal of a Southeast Asian tournament itself. This fact was reflected in the semi-finals where the top players showed off their talent, notably the competition of Duong Anh Vu versus Truong Quang Hao.“The tournament was our success in the first time organization ever. We are aiming at improving the quality of this tournament for next year with more and bigger awards,” said Mr. Do Van Trung, Director of Binh Duong Television Station and Head of the tournament organization.Reported by Chi Thanh – Translated by Vi Bao
