Scientific workshop on conservation planning and promoting values of Bai Tu Long bay

A scientific workshop on conservation planning and promoting the value of BaibTu Long bay was organized by the Ha Long Bay Management Board in collaboration with the Vietnam Institute of Architecture, Urban and Rural Planning (VIAP) under the Ministry of Construction on July 23 in Ha Long city, Quang Ninh province.   The scene of the workshop.

Adjacent to the world heritage site Ha Long bay, Bai Tu Long bay is favoured by nature with many unique natural beauties of more than 600 large and small islands, primeval forests growing by pristine white sand beaches. In particular, the area has the ​​Bai Tu Long National Park with extremely unique natural scenery. Bai Tu Long bay is also home to high biodiversity with mangrove, coral reef and tropical forest ecosystems. Besides, Bai Tu Long bay also contains many cultural and historical values. These are important factors for the development of diversified and attractive tourism types such as geological park, historical and cultural park, resort tourism, exploitation tourism.

At the workshop, the delegates heard presentations about conservation planning and promoting values of biodiversity, culture and history of Bai Tu Long bay; situation and solution on planning management, conservation of Bai Tu Long bay; overall planning ideas, conserving and promoting values of Bai Tu Long bay.

The workshop aims to honour and preserve the cultural, historical, geological, geomorphological, biodiversity and unique natural landscape of the Bai Tu Long bay, especially Bai Tu Long National Park.

The workshop also aims to propose combined solutions between conservation, exploitation and promote the unique values of the region, tourism development expansion, ensuring links and harmonic development with urban areas of Ha Long, Cam Pha and Van Don. At the same time, it also creates a legal basis on planning to attract investment capital and uniting management in the entire area of Bai Tu Long bay, contributing to reduce pressure on the development of Ha Long bay world heritage area./.
