In recent years, Binh Duong has become the bright place of the country in terms of investment and construction of social housing to well serve the needs of workers and low-income one. Currently, Binh Duong continues to promote the construction of social housing, which is a practical policy, to help immigrant workers have stable conditions and feel secure to stay in the province for a long time, and at the same time, to contribute to attracting foreign investors to economic and social development.
The sense of settlement and stable career
For immigrant workers, choosing Binh Duong to establish a career is the permanent dream of having a good place to settle. Over the years, the province's social housing construction program has opened up to turn the dreams of tens of thousands of immigrant workers into reality. Mr. Tran Van Chieu, 34 from Ba Ria - Vung Tau and a worker of Dai Thanh Phung Company in Bau Bang Industrial and Urban area, said that when he first arrived in Binh Duong, he did not dare to dream of his day of having his own house for an income of about VND 8 million a month while the price of cheap land plots had also been up to hundreds of millions of VND. Unable to hide his joy, Mr. Chieu said: “It is surprising that after only 2 years in Binh Duong, my wife and I received a registration to purchase social housing, so we have a house to live in. Although we are still paying monthly installments, we have a nice, cool and settled house and place to live. This is an indescribable joy for my wife and I to settle down and get a job.”
Dinh Hoa social housing area invested by Becamex IDC well serves the need of regional workers
Binh Duong has strongly developed industrial parks while attracting a large number of labor force from provinces and cities throughout the nation. The goal of social security and large social housing areas have always been the breakthroughs of the province. Mr. Vo Hoang Ngan, Director of Department of Construction, said: “The development of industrial parks and clusters has led to a large concentration of residents from many places. Therefore, the demand for housing among workers is very large. From the above fact, Binh Duong has had policies to support housing, especially calling for investors to participate in the development of social housing for sales and rent in order to gradually solve the needs of workers moving in."
In 2021, the floor area for housing construction in the whole province reached about 77.1 million square meters as the average housing area reached 30.3 square meters a person. Housing development has basically met the needs of Binh Duong's population growth. In Binh Duong, Becamex IDC is a pioneer in developing social housing, which is an important element in the ecosystem surrounding industrial parks and urban areas of Becamex IDC. Becamex IDC social housing project with an initial scale of 120,000 units has served the settlement needs of more than 300,000 people at a preferential price of VND 100-200 million an apartment of 30-square-meter floor. The purchase combined with home loans has attracted tens of thousands of workers and low-income people to buy.
Construction to be constantly boosted
Mr. Nguyen Hoang Vu, Deputy General Director of Becamex IDC, Chairman of Binh Duong Real Estate Association, said: “The social housing project is of great interest to Becamex IDC to especially receive positive feedback from the public. The reason why Becamex IDC social housing apartment is quite cheap is because from the very beginning, the goal is to support the settlement of accommodation for workers who come to Binh Duong to work and stay for a long time. In fact, tens of thousands of workers and low-income people have bought, rented and lived stably, meeting part of the labor needs of enterprises investing in industrial parks.
Ms. Tran Ngoc Trang, a worker of Shyang Hung Cheng Co. Ltd. in Thuan An city, said: “The social housing program is very meaningful for immigrant workers as the current purchasing demand is huge. I also know that the province is currently implementing groups of economic recovery solutions including the promotion of social housing construction to retain and attract long-term employees. I believe that in a day not far away, I will have my dream house.”
Mr. Vo Hoang Ngan added that in order to offer better living conditions for workers and low-income people, Binh Duong has planned to construct 1 million more social housing apartments. The province has proposed to the government and Ministry of Construction to consider and facilitate preferential capital resources and specifically direct the investment implementation process while selecting investors to construct social housing system.
The province will focus on implementing the social housing development project for 2021-2025 and the following years. In which, reviewing the planning of industrial parks that have been and are about to be implemented in the area to ensure the standards and regulations of the union's institutions, the construction of accommodation for workers, kindergartens, supermarkets and cultural and sports facilities in a bid to improve living standards and to ensure to meet the needs of workers in industrial parks and clusters of the province.
