The event attracted a great number of Vietnamese and international students studying in Montpellier, 750km from the French capital Paris.

  Students from Montpellier's different universities, particularly those studying at ESMA Aviation Academy, enlivened the event with their traditional and modern songs. A young African student with the Vietnamese name Le Van Tinh performed a Vietnamese song called "Mother's Heart", moving the appreciative audience. Duong Bich Ngoc obtained the highest points from the jury and students to win the contest's first prize.  Two runners-up prizes were given to Hoang Phuong and Tuc Ngan. Cong Tri finished third. Jade (from France) and Le Van Tinh (from Cameroon) received consolation prizes.
