Leaders send Tet wishes to guest workers in Macau

Representatives from Vietnam’s Consulate General in Hong Kong and Macau—led by Consul-General Nguyen Thi Nha – arrived in Macau, China to send Tet wishes to Vietnamese guest workers on the threshold of the 2013 New Year. Nha said despite living abroad, Vietnamese guest workers remain mindful of national pride and preserve their cultural identity. She briefed the workers on the country’s 2012 socio-economic and political situation and its prospects for 2013. Consul-General Nha voiced her faith in the Vietnamese community’s determination to uphold their traditions in Macau, assist each other to earn money for their families, and contribute to national construction and development.She wished that honouring labour contracts, the Vietnamese community in Macau will obey Vietnamese laws and elevate Vietnam’s image in the eyes of local residents. She also held a working meeting with the leaders of a number of companies recruiting and employing Vietnamese workers in MacauBoth sides want to strengthen coordination to protect the legal rights of Vietnamese workers in Macau, ensure they fulfill all labour contract provisions, and help them integrate into their resident country./.CPV
