They include the 40th anniversary of Vietnam-India diplomatic ties and the fifth anniversary of Vietnam-India strategic partnership, and the 20th anniversary of ASEAN-India relations.

Rock band Shwaas will make a performance tour of Vietnam, with the first show in Danang City on January 2. They will then perform in HCM City on January 4, Can Tho City on January 6 and Hanoi on January 7-8.

An India-Vietnam investment and trade workshop will be jointly held in Danang City on January 3 by the Indian embassy, in collaboration with the the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the Indian Chamber of Commerce (ICC) in Kolkata, and the Indian Business Chamber in Vietnam (INCHAM).

The workshop is part of a Vietnam-India business forum which will see the participation of a 10-member delegation from ICC.

Besides 100 Vietnamese businesses, Indian companies operating in infrastructure development, mining, construction, health care, aviation, tea processing, and tourism will attend the forum.

The Indian business delegation will fly to Hanoi where they are scheduled to work with the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, and the Vietnam Tea Association.  

Indian naval ship INS Sudarshini will make a Southeast Asian tour, travelling to Indonesia, Myanmar, Brunei, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, Vietnam, Cambodia and Thailand.

The ship is due to dock at Danang port from December 31 to January 3.
