‘Integration’, a documentary film about languages used by three generations of Vietnamese people living in Slovakia was shown on STV2 channel on March 22.
In the film the rector of a Bratislava primary school says her pupils are taught Vietnamese so they can talk with their grandparents in Vietnam when they visit them.Their parents are also encouraged to learn Slovakian to have better communication in their daily life. After successfully teaching the first group of 28 adults the school is now help 4 groups of more than 100 people in total to speak the local language.The film was shown on the occasion of the Slovakian Minister of Foreign Affairs Karel Schwarzenberg’s visit to Vietnam.During his meeting with Vietnamese Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung, he said the Vietnamese community has served as a bridge between the two countries and the film should be on screened in all schools, especially in primary schools.VOV
