The successful model of multiple economy

Update: 08-09-2023 | 15:12:34

Nguyen Van Dinh of Dang Huong hamlet in Dinh Hiep commune of Dau Tieng district identifies himself as a passionate person doing business. Thanks to boldly developing a variety of models, on the 30-year journey of building in Dinh Hiep land, Dinh has a spacious property while his children study well, contributing to the enrichment of the locality.

Favorable land for flourishing is true in the case of Dinh. As a northerner, in 1993, stopping by a completely new land, Dinh started applying to work as a worker at Dau Tieng Rubber Company, going to technical training in rubber latex processing. In early 1996, he graduated from school and got married. While working as a worker, he raised cattle and buffaloes, and at one point developed a herd of up to 50 cows. The riping was righteous for hard-working people, at the end of 1996 he bought 2 hectares of land, initially realizing his dream of settling down and having a career.

Dinh's catfish pond produces 4-6 tons per catch for the average profit of averagely VND 60 million

“At that time, I was always determined that as a farmer, I had to have land and settle down to have a job. With money, I found a nice piece of land as back then the land was cheap and easy to deal. At the same time with developing livestock and farming, I did many things. In 1998, I planted high-yield noodles and earned VND 120 million a year. In 2010, starting to plant more rubber also gave good revenue. Up to now, the total area of rubber trees is about 5 hectares," Dinh recalled.

Not staying still, in 2013, after visiting tours in the West to discover the crocodile farming model, Dinh learned and applied the same method. Initially, he raised 400 on a trial basis. Up to now, he maintains a herd of less than 1,000 animals for quite favorable income of averagely at about 500-600 a year for the profit of VND 250-300 million. Along with that, in order to take advantage of the leftover food of crocodiles, he also raised catfish on a pond area of 250m2. The average income from the catfish model is VND 60 million a catch for about 4-6 tons of fish to be exported each season.

Just like Dinh shared, he never let the capital resources stand still and constantly developed the economic model. In 2017, he realized that bamboo shoots was suitable for the soil of his living area, so he continued to convert 1.2 hectares of rubber trees that had been liquidated to grow bamboo for the shoots. After a year of favorable growth of bamboo for the shoots, the family now cuts once every 3 days to get about 150kg of bamboo shoots to provide for acquaintances in Ho Chi Minh city. Also in 2017, he also invested in a bird's nest house with a stable revenue of about VND 100 million a year.

In 2020, he continues to invest in solar power which is a model that also brings a stable source of income for his family today. Dinh said: “The rooftop solar power used for crocodile farming is insignificant, and mainly used for lighting. If the weather is nice for about 2,500KW, the family can't use it all but to sell. The average revenue from the solar array is VND 130 million a month.

Looking at Dinh's spacious property and superficial production facility, we can not help but admire this determination to get rich. Being flexible, responsive and enterprising, the development of a variety of economic models that have brought in stable revenue is the inevitable result. Dinh further shared that from now until the end of the year, he would complete more goat farms. In the future, if the rural roads of Dang Huong hamlet develop, he will do more tourism modeto beassociated with rural agriculture and homestays to attract tourists from near and far.
