Thu Dau Mot City eyes standardized elementary education

Leaders of Department of Education and Training highly evaluated the education quality of elementary schools with stabilized standards and peak movements of student qualifications.In the school year of 2012-2013, the sector eyed 68.21% of distinction elementary school students in Vietnamese Literature and 73.33% in Mathematics. Comparing the previous school year, the ratio of distinction and credit students of Thu Dau Mot City increases by 3.36% A teacher of Dinh Hoa Elementary School is instructing her students in new approaches of teaching Mr. Duong Van Bon, Head of Thu Dau Mot City Education and Training Office was so delightful telling us the stabilizing and implementing measures of elementary education quality improvement in the city. The beforehand tasks include construction of facilities and teaching aids. Up to date, all elementary schools of the city have been fortified while the facility network and equipment have been modernizedTogether with facilities, other quality deciding factors include promotion of professional activities. Thu Dau Mot City Education and Training Office has demanded schools to assure curriculum allocation and skill training courses for the classes.Teaching method reforms and organization of educational activities in elementary schools contribute to thorough and effective reforms of elementary programs.For teaching method reforms, in the past school year, the sector has test tried quality control in Grade 4 and Grade 5, assuring more helps for weak students.Besides, the 3-level specialized groups have also been established to offer seminars on teaching experience exchange.Ms. Le Thi Hong Chau, Principal of Nguyen Trai Elementary School, informed that her teaching staff was aware of the new teaching approach in the last school year by following the requirements of the office and implementing standardized knowledge. To control the quality, extra classes have been offered to support students of lower learning quality.Mr. Duong Van Bon asserted that together with positive method reforms, the role of specialized groups was upheld to monitor the progress and detect remedies for students. However, the most concern was the discrimination of weaker students and behavior construction.Schools administer placement tests to allocate students and propose the best measures to improve quality through tests.In parallel with facility construction and professional activities, Thu Dau Mot City Office of Education and Training has built up plans to train up their teachers for year on year success. In 2013-2015, the office projected to train political and professional qualification as required by the standardization.Project of development strategy of the sector is constructed.
