As a large and populous locality, Thuan An town educational sector has been gradually developed, keeping pace with the provincial growth pace. Thuan An is one of localities leading in universalization on primary and secondary education.  Pupils of Lai Thieu primary school. 

Since 1996, Thuan An has been recognized as the national standard locality on universal primary education and illiteracy control. In 2001, the locality reached the national standard on secondary education universalization. Two years later, Thuan An educational sector was recognized universalization on primary and secondary education.

Thuan An is located at the key economic zone and is a populous area. The entire town has 10 communes, wards and townships. All wards in the town have immigrants. Binh Chuan ward alone, rate of immigrants is double from local residents whilst wards of Thuan Giao, An Phu and Binh Hoa’s immigrants are fourth-fold from local people.

The rapid economic development has led an immense immigration, increasing population and changing education universalization.

However, schooling network in Thuan An town has been reinforced. The whole town is home to 53 pre-schools, 19 primary schools, 8 secondary ones, 3 high ones and 1 private primary and secondary school. Thuan An town’s educational scale has been constantly improved whilst conditions of education have been ensured and strengthened.

Especially, work educational socialization has been developed, contributing to excel the local goals of education and training.

Thanks to local authority and entire people’s care and support, Thuan An town educational sector has over the past years contributed to gain victories in the local work on primary and secondary universalization.

To obtain high results in the work on educational universalization, Thuan An town annually holds summing up conferences to assess implementation of plans and to honor excellent collectives and individuals of the educational universalization.

At present, Thuan An town-based all communes and wards have established Centers for Community Learning. The local work on pre-school universalization for 5-year old children has reached 100% in this year.

Huynh Thi My Ngan, head of Thuan An town division of Education and Training said “Over the past time, the work on educational universalization in the town gains the set plans. At present, Thuan An has had many industrial parks in need of skilled manpower. As of 2013, knowledge of local people, especially youths has been improved significantly. This has contributed to decline rate of poverty households”.
