*Ly Hoang Nam leaps 150 places in world junior rankings

Rising tennis star Ly Hoang Nam of Binh Duong moved up 150 spots to 114th in the International Tennis Federation (ITF)’s latest junior ranking (photo).

Nam’s rise was thanks to his impressive performances in three recent ITF Grade 1 tournaments in Mexico, Costa Rica and Venezuela. Noticeably, the fifteen-year-old table tennis player made it to the quarter-final round of the Copa Del Cafe tournament in Costa Rica and the second round of the Copa Gatorade in Venezuela.

The new ranking marks a huge achievement for Nam, who four weeks ago, still ranked 276th in the world junior rankings. Today, January 21, Nam will start his first training day at Becamex Table Tennis Training Center after ending his competition tour in Mexico, Costa Rica and Venezuela.
