To step by step renewing thinking of managing culture

On Jan 6, in Hanoi, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism held a nationwide online conference to review working results in 2021 and set tasks in 2022. The conference had the participation of Deputy Prime Minister Vu Duc Dam and leaders of central ministries, departments and branches. At Binh Duong endpoint, leaders of provincial departments and agencies took part in the conference.

In the face of the Covid-19 pandemic, in 2021, the Culture, Sports and Tourism sector was directly and comprehensively affected and suffered extensive damage in all fields. With creative efforts, flexible management, quick adaptation, timely solutions and well-organized new guidelines and policies, the Culture, Sports and Tourism sector successfully completed important tasks. The role and position of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism is enhanced; the sector step by step renewed thinking and changed to "managing culture", directed, operated and performed tasks in a "constructive" spirit; focused on building mechanisms and policies for state management by law and at the same time created driving force for industry development.

Many new models and approaches in direction and administration have been applied; proactively and drastically removed bottlenecks restraining the development of the sector; promoted the fine traditional cultural values of the nation, the intrinsic strength of the sector. The conservation and promotion of heritage values received attention and was well performed, spreading the beauty of cultural heritage among the community.

Besides, the state management and development of physical training and sports have made progress; basic targets of mass physical training and sports were completed and exceeded the plan, won many impressive achievements at congresses and sports tournaments at regional, continental and world levels; held and participated in sport tournaments at home and abroad...

Speaking at the conference, Deputy Prime Minister Vu Duc Dam acknowledged the innovation and strong growth of the culture, sports and tourism sector in the year. Notably, the sector has approved a series of development-oriented strategies in the coming time, successfully held a National Cultural Conference appreciated by the Government, and organized an international exhibition that resonated greatly... In particular, the Deputy Prime Minister was touched by images of artists who were not afraid of danger, participated in performances to encourage the people's spirit and frontline forces at medical isolation areas. On behalf of Government leaders, the Deputy Prime Minister praised and recognized the contributions of the sector and asked the sector continue to promote the attained results, seriously acknowledge shortcomings, overcome limitations to take a bigger step next year.
