Outstanding Vietnamese athlete Truong Thanh Hang won a silver medal at the 2011 Asian Athletics Championships, which is taking place in Kobe, Japan.
Hang finished second in the women’s 1,500m event with a time of 4’18’’40, after Genzeb Shumi Regasa from Bahrain (4’15’’91). This is Hang’s highest achievement in 2011 so far.
Last year she also won a silver medal at the 16th Asian Games (ASIAD) with a time of 4’09’’58.
Hang will also take part in the women’s 800m event on July 10. She currently ranks third among 10 athletes competing in the event.
